Matt Fitzpatrick tees up Horizm to drive digital growth

PGA and European Tour golfer, Matt Fitzpatrick has today confirmed an agreement with leading digital inventory specialists, Horizm, that will see the Fitzpatrick’s team using Horizm AI powered platform to maximise the performance and commercial potential of his digital media channels.

Fitzpatrick, 27, turned pro in 2014 and quickly established himself on the European Tour, winning his first event at the 2015 British Masters. The following year Matt broke into the top 50 in Official World Golf Ranking—where he has stayed ever since. Matt’s stellar start of his professional career earned him a place on the 2016 Ryder Cup team, and he is well placed to secure a spot to represent Europe in this year’s competition. Other career highlights include back-to-back Omega European Masters in 2017 and 2018 and the DP World Tour Championship in 2020 which enabled him to finish runner-up in the Race to Dubai and reach a career-high ranking of No. 16.

Matt success on the course has helped him build a social media following of almost 200,000 across Facebook, Instagram & Twitter and, through this new deal, Horizm will be helping Matt understand how he can best engage with his growing digital audience and how it can be used to drive value for a portfolio of partners, that includes leading brands such as Rolex and Under Armour.

Commenting on the new agreement, Matt Fitzpatrick said:

“I’m excited to sign this new agreement with Horizm — as a professional golfer, your digital channels are a key part of how you connect with your fans and build your own brand. Having seen what Horizm have done with leading teams in other sports, I am excited to see how they can help me develop how I use my own social media, to serve my fans and my partners.”.

Horizm’s Head of Commercial, Sam Grimley added:

“It’s a huge honour to welcome Matt to the Horizm family. As a sport, golf has really embraced digital media as way to grow its audiences and revenues and our deal with Matt is further evidence of this – we are excited to help Matt and his team really build on his success, by helping him increase his digital footprint and the role it plays in his commercial activities.”

Fitzpatrick, a big Sheffield United fan, becomes Horizm’s first golf client, and he joins a roster of over 50 rights holders from nine different sports who have chosen Horizm as their digital partner.
