Horizm have today unveiled Craig Thompson of Mindspring Capital and Petr Zhukov of Indigo Capital Partners as the latest members of their advisory board, who will be providing strategic guidance to help Horizm grow their digital asset management business for the sports and entertainment industries.
The additions of Craig and Petr bring significant industry influence and commercial expertise to the Horizm team. They join an illustrious advisory board that already includes Irina Pavlova former Brooklyn Nets, Google and Merrill Lynch Executive and Ricardo Fort, Former Global VP Sponsorship at The Coca Cola Company and Visa.
Craig has been intimately involved in the creation and management of some of the most recognized global sporting events, serving as CEO of 34th America’s Cup and perhaps most significantly as Managing Director of T.E.A.M. Marketing AG, where he co-created and developed the UEFA Champions League. In helping to drive the strategic development of what is now one of the premier competitions in the world of sport, Craig developed deep relationships with the top teams, leagues and FAs and worked regularly with leading brands such as SONY, Heineken, Ford, MasterCard, and Adidas and top broadcasters like ITV, RTL, TVE, RTI, TF1, Globo, and ESPN.
Throughout his career Craig has seen the impact of sports tech on the industry and In his role as Managing Partner of sports industry investment group, Mindspring Capital, Craig is using his vast sports network and experience to help shape the next generation of startups set to shake up the industry.
Petr Zhukov is the Founder and Managing Partner of Indigo Capital Partners, the global private equity and venture capital investment firm with sports tech expertise established in 2011. Petr started his career in 2003-2004 as an analyst at a mid-sized private equity firm, Brunswick Capital. In 2004-2011 Petr pursued a career in investment banking and he went on to hold senior various roles at UBS and Credit Suisse investment banking divisions in Moscow and London.
Petr is today a reputable venture investor and business angel who has invested in a number of prominent start-ups. He is also the chairman of the Russian chess-boxing federation, as well as a practitioner of team and individual sports and has academic qualifications from the Higher School of Economics and the Harvard Business School.
